Tourism Product Management and Industry Analysis between Marriott Hotels and Qatar Airways

Marriott Hotels started the business as an A&W Root Beer Franchise in Washington in 1927, founded by Alice Sheets Marriott and J. Willard. The business is initially named Hot Shoppes, which reflects the initial focus of the brand to quench thirst during the hot summer. Additionally, the company first entered the international market in 1966 with the acquisition of an airline catering kitchen in Venezuela. It helped the company to enter the international market and expand its business through developing its tourism product management initiatives in an effective way.

Qatar Airways was developed in 1993 initially as a regional carrier with a small fleet of leased aircraft. Akbar Al Baker is the CEO of Qatar Airways, who developed its expansion strategy through focusing on rapid network growth and developing Doha as a major hub. In recent years, Qatar Airways has become a prominent global airline and a member of the Oneworld Alliance through managing its extensive networks, award-winning services, and modern fleet.
